Fall Season F.A.Q.

Fall Season Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

Question:  How as a league are you handling the COVID-19 situation?

Answer: We are following all the county and state guidelines along with our own park rules as we start the season.  We will have a separate FAQ for COVID-19.  This will outline all our recommended guidelines and how we will handle the tryouts, practices, and games.

Question:  How much are the registration fees?

Answer:  Registration fees by age group are listed below:

Rookie League - $75.00
Farm League (5 and 6) - $115.00
Farm League (7 and 8) - $115.00
Minor League (9 and 10) - $125.00
Freshman League (11 and 12) - $125.00
Sophomore League (13 and 14) - $125.00
Jr. and Sr. League (15 - 17) - $200.00 - See below for details.

Question: In the past we always play in the next age group why are we not playing up this fall?
Answer:

As a board, we felt since the spring season was cancelled, we should offer the kids to stay at the same age group as spring and have a fun season.

Question:  Do you have any kind of payment plans or scholarship programs?

Answer:  Yes. We are an organization that is here to have the kids play. If you need to arrange a payment plan or scholarship please send an email to [email protected] prior to the date and time of your child's assessments and a director will get back to you as soon as possible on the options available.

Question:  How many games will we play?

Answer: This varies based on age group. The 3/4 Rookie league will be scheduled for approximately 6 games. All older age groups will be scheduled for 8-10 games including an end of the season double elimination tournament. During fall ball we will reschedule rain out games, but we will not be extending the season past the scheduled end date. We will do our best to reschedule any rain-outs without extending the season end date.

Question:  Where are the games played?

Answer:  We have fields at Mt. Road Elementary School and Sequoyah Park. Rookie League (ages 3 and 4) thru Minor League (ages 9 and 10) can play at either location. Freshman League (ages 11 and 12) thru Sophomore League (ages 13 and 14) will play games at Sequoyah Park. We sometime "Play In" with other parks in the area so you may play at other parks in the area for away games. This is based on the size of the age group and if it is beneficial for the parks to partner in this effort to benefit the kids of the county.

Question:  What is included in our registration fees?

Answer:  The registration fees cover the purchase of the players’ uniform (outlined below per age group) and the costs to provide the game schedule of 8-10 regular season games and end of season double elimination tournament.

Rookie League (ages 3 and 4) - Uniforms consists of East Cherokee Logo hat and Fall Ball jersey.

All other age groups - Uniform consists of a MLB Minor League Logo hat, and fall Ball jersey.

Question:  Can my child play up an age group?

Answer:  Players can request to play up one age group from their assigned age group. This will need to be requested using the request to play up process that is outlined in the registration confirmation email you will receive during the registration process. The Board of Directors recommends that all players play in their assigned age groups but understands that may not be the best thing for all players and situations.

Questions:  Can we request to be on the same team as another nonrelated player?

Answer:  Yes, you can request to be on the same team as another non related player. This is a request and is NOT guaranteed by the league and is discussed with the coaches of the age group prior to the team draft.

Question: Why is the Jr. and Sr. (15-17) age group registration fee higher than the others?
Answer: Sequoyah Park does not have a field large enough to host games for this age group. Due to that fact, we must rely on another program to provide field space. The additional fees associated with using the other program's field requires us to charge more to cover this expense.
