East Cherokee Baseball COVID-19 Guidelines

Social Distancing

1. Stay at least 6 feet away from others you do not live with (“social distancing”) and take other steps to prevent COVID-19

a.  Stay home if you are feeling sick, tested positive, or recently exposed.

2.  Avoid gathering with people you do not live with.

3.  Wear a mask as feasible.  Masks are most essential in times when social distancing is difficult.




Practices/Games

1.      Reduced capacity for spectators please limit the number of spectators to immediate family members only
         a.      Siblings and other children please remain with their families
2.      Schedules staggard to limit the number of people present in the park at the same time
         a.      Arrive 10 minutes prior to start time
3.      Dugout will be expanded to only allowed players and coaches.
         a.      No bat boy/girl, other siblings allowed in dugout
4.      Bags, equipment, or other items must be placed outside dugout 6 feet apart.
5.      No post meetings after practice or games.
         a.      No team snacks distributions allowed.
6.      No handshakes after games, teams can line up and tip their caps or say something positive.
7.      Parents and coaches should supply their players with the necessary antibacterial spray, wipes, and hand sanitizer for                   disinfecting any shared equipment and cleaning hands.
         a.      No sharing personal items such as water bottles, face masks, or other items
8.      Batting cages will not be available
9.      Warm up will happen on field only before your scheduled practice or game.
10.    If anyone shows any symptoms of being sick, or has fever, please stay home. Please notify coach immediately.
11.    Players coaches, and family members please practice and maintain social distancing.

Policies and protocol for Positive COVID-19

If anyone has been notified, they have been exposed due to contract tracing, or someone tests positive for COVID-19 the following protocol will be followed. This is based on the CDC guidelines and if anything changes, we will do our best to update accordingly.

Notified being exposed due to contract tracing
1.      Will not be allowed to any practices, games, or at the park for 10 days

Positive Test Result

1.      Coaches and all family members quarantine for 10 days, not allowed to any attend practices, games, or park. After 10 days, no negative test needed, must have 24 hours fever free without using reducing medicine.
2.      Players – all family member quarantine for 10 days, not allowed to any attend practices, games, or park. After 10 days, no negative test needed, must have 24 hours fever free without using reducing medicine.
