Game Day Guidelines

Your guide for getting ready for game day.

General Guidelines

If you only have 8 players available for the game. A team may pull players from a younger age group to get their roster to nine (9) players. The pulled up player(s) must play in the outfield and bat last. Player(s) may not be pulled up if he has a game scheduled for his regular team in the next time slot of the same day. A player may only be pulled to the same team two (2) times during the season. 

Weekday Games

Arrive 30 minutes before your game start time. Check the field.

  1. Make sure the bases and pitching mound distance are correct(see chart below).
  2. Make sure the fields have been lined.
  3. If you do not need a pitching mound, move the mound off to the side of the field, in the grass next to the fence.
  4. Have your line-up set.
  5. Exchange your line up with the other team.
  6. Meet with the umpire(s), confirm home and away team.
  7. Confirm how long the game will be and ask any clarification question with the umpire during this time.
  8. Play ball!

Saturday's Game

Usually during the week Cherokee County Parks and Recreation will prep the fields for us. This is not done for us on the weekend. This means you will have to help prep the field. You and the other coaches will need to move bases, line the field, and help groom trouble areas (such as batter box…) If you have the very first game 9 or 9.30am start
Arrive 45 minutes early

  8. Play ball!
